Let's Turn on the Power

Paul's letter to the Ephesians is filled with faith building and identification verses. Paul concludes this letter with some very important information that believers need to get into their spirit because all the information will not mean much if we do not do what he proposes in his conclusion...

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:10-11)

The Apostle Paul concludes his letter to the Ephesians with what has become known as spiritual warfare scriptures. His prayer in the beginning of the letter is for the purpose of believers become spiritually acute to the incredible revelation that the Holy Spirit is unveiling through him. Although Ephesians is only six chapters, in my opinion he covers enough areas of Christian life that if completely applied, the believer will be powerful and successful from church life to family life to personal life. But like everything else, believers must live by faith.

When I talk about spiritual warfare, I do not refer to it as many others do. Spiritual warfare is not going head to head with the devil in some sort of combat prayer, although prayer is a part of it. When I mention spiritual warfare I simply mean enforcing what Jesus did...
"how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him." (Acts 10:38)
Believers are to carry out His plan by exercising authority over the devil and his gang in their daily lives as they expand the kingdom of heaven on the entire earth.

Another aspect of spiritual warfare that believers need to know is that the believer who puts on this armor is marked. The devil will do everything in his power to keep believers from coming into the revelation that they have authority over him. I know through my own personal experiences that he will fight over this matter more than any other. The devil will test us and we may fail but we must never let a test cause us to throw up our hands and say something to the effect, “This authority stuff does not work for me.” That is fear, doubt or unbelief at work. In fact what one is really saying is, God is a liar, His word is not true. Who is the real liar? it is the devil, so let’s never forget that!

We will look deeper into what Paul is conveying to the church but for now, let us remember exactly what Paul is saying...
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:10-11) SELAH
