I Will Not Believe

"I will not believe" are the very words that the NKJV records Thomas saying when the other disciples said to him, "We have seen the LORD." (John 20:25) Though this may sound paradoxical, but unfortunately many believers today including church leaders also do not believe. Doubt or unbelief is generally produced through several means...
  • A lack of knowledge of the Word of God...
  • A lack of understanding ones position in Christ...
  • A lack of understanding of who one is in Christ...
  • A lack of understanding what we have been given in Christ...
  • A lack of understanding of our authority in Christ...
  • An excess of the wisdom of man which produces liberal theology...
  • A flat out lack of faith...
Doubt or unbelief come in several forms but they all are based on questioning the integrity of Gods Word or His will. They manifest in one or more of these arguments...
  • Gods will is different for different people even if the circumstance or situations are the same…
  • God has a divine purpose for using sickness, injury, diseases, poverty, etc. in a believer’s life…
  • God has a specific timing for all aspects of salvation (healing, deliverance, being made whole, etc.) therefore no matter how much faith one has He prevents these things from happening until His timing has been met…
  • God is sovereign and He will do whatever He wants to do…
Doubt will always prevent a believer from acting on the Word of God because true faith is always revealed through actions as James 2:18 says…”Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” As we can see here in James faith is not static. If believers do not spend daily time in the Word, come to know their position in Christ, know who they are in Christ, know all that they have been given through Christ and reject doctrine that contrary to Gods Word, the faith that they already have simply will not grow. It is a lack of faith in the believers life that causes them to fall far short of all that the Father in heaven has provided through Jesus Christ.

Believers must come to a place in their lives that they do not question what God can do, He has already fully restored humanity and has provided salvation (rebirth, healing, deliverance, protection, provision, etc.)through Jesus Christ. It simply comes down to one thing, what YOU CAN BELIEVE!!!
